The Protec Wake is by far our best selling plastic helmet. While the outer shell is the same as the Protec Ace model, the inside has an adjustable head holder that makes for a better fit on most heads and ear flaps for side head impact protection and warmth. These flaps do a great job of preventing 'surfers ear' - much more effective than the hard, vented sides on full cut style helmets.
The cradle offers a more customized fit, as there are two settings on this piece, effectively doubling the range of sizes available in this style.
The earflaps are perforated to allow for hearing, and detachable for hot days or multisporting events when heads tend to become hot with exertion. The earflaps offer superb side head impact protection, as well as warmth on cold winter days or in glacier fed rivers.
The Protec Wake is the perfect helmet for those with varied kayaking needs and who desire/require a secure fit. The interior is closed cell foam which provides you with excellent impact protection and giving you the ability to make fine adjustments to the fit without compromising the integrity of your helmet.
