Rudders are invaluable in helping control your kayak wind and current. The Ocean Kayak rudder kits include everything you need to install your rudder, including clear, step by step and photo filled instructions - the tools you need to do the job are listed below. Kits fit kayaks as listed above.
If you are able to bring your kayak into our shop then we can fit the rudder kit for you for around $50.
Required tools:
- Drill with Hex Head Driver
- 9.5mm Drill Bit (ledathene holes)
- Vice Grips
- Length of Wire (running ledathene)
- Wire Cutters
- Crimping Tool
- Supa-Glue
- Loc-Tite
- Lighter or heat gun
- Rope Cutter
Please note: due to changes in Ocean Kayak rudder design over the years we require the serial number of your kayak to ensure that you get the correct style of rudder.
