These hardwearing plastic saddlebacks are what is needed to customize your deck with deck lines or attachment points for a variety of accessories and new outfitting items. Use up to 5mm bungie or deckline with these arches. Fits all Cobra and Surf to Summit sit on top attachments and seats, as well as On Top Down Under kayak sail parts. Also useful for outfitting otherwise simplistic kayaks such as the Mission Squirt, or composite kayaks that are custom made for you personally without any assumed extras.
The price includes one saddleback (top units in the photo) and two pop rivets (bottom units in the photo). Rivet gun and glue of your choice not included.
To install: Put the saddleback on the kayak where you plan on installing it. Mark through the holes with a pen or pencil to mark where to drill two holes. Drill two holes slightly smaller than the diameter of the plastic part of the rivet so the entire unit may pass through the hole. Apply a drop of sealant or Silicone glue across the holes to seal them completely when the pop rivet is installed. The pop rivets should already be through the saddleback and ready to push into the holes you have just drilled. Push these through, and use a pop rivet "gun" to pull up the centre metal piece and snap off the excess. This crimps the plastic piece to the inside of the kayak securing the pop rivet, and the silicone glue assures the tightness of fit and waterproofness of the join.
