Sit on Top Kayaks

Sit on tops have truly come of age in the last few years: now you can have one for almost any purpose you would use a sit in kayak for - which is why there are so many of them. To help narrow down the list, the kayaks and info sections are separated into the following categories:

Let us know if you want help making sure you get the right kayak for you.

Kids and family:
Looking for kayaks for the kids that adults can use too? Take the Cobra Play, Mission Flow or Mission Squirt for a spin. Or get the perfect all-round kayak designed just for kids with the Fluid Vaya. See the tandem section below to take more than one person at a time - including the entire family at once if you'd like.

Surfing and Wave skis:
Fancy a spot of surfing? Try the Mission Flow, Cobra Play, Cobra Strike (Cobra's wave ski) or the Cobra Re-Vision (kayak version of a longboard).

Fishing and Diving:
Maybe you're looking for a platform to get you to your favourite fishing or diving spot, it doesn't get more stable than the Cobra Fish'n'Dive and it has a carrying capacity of over 270Kgs! Also made for extreme stability are Ocean Kayak Peek-a-boo with a window through your kayak to see the terrain under your kayak and the Mission Catch 390 Fishing Kayak with its complete fishing set up and easy-lift central handles .  Want something faster? See the Ocean Kayak Prowler Elite 4.5, Cobra Pro Fisherman, and the Cobra Marauder for ideal fishing kayaks that will take you the distance but still keep you upright while flyfishing or casting. Want to cross that fast flowing river to the little-fished spot on the other side, or ride downstream from one secluded fishing spot to another?  The Fluid Chumani is a white water kayak in the form of a sit on top, made to handle the rocks and current of a river as easily as it bounces around coastal rocks.  It also has places to lash large drybags front and back for longer adventures.

Exploring and Touring:
Maybe you'd like to explore Quail Island & the bays of Lyttelton harbour or your local lake - Cobra Explorer, Cobra Tourer, , and Cobra Expedition will all take you there (listed from most basic to highest performance).

All-round / bit of everything:
Perhaps you want a bit of everything, including running some easy grade 2-3 rivers? The Fluid Chumani is possibly the best all-rounder available: everything from flat water fishing and exploring to surfing to the perfect kayak for extended river trips as it can take flat lakes, choppy seas or even white water rivers in its stride - and it will hold loads of gear.  Another kayak not to be overlooked in the generalist category is the Mission Flow.

Tandems/Triples:
If you'd like something to take several members of the family all at the same time then the Fluid Synergy Tandem, Mission Surge Tandem, Cobra Tandem and the Cobra Triple are the way to go. The Ocean Kayak Peek-a-boo is perfect for parents wanting to explore the underwater world with their kids.  If you'd like to take longer day trips or go touring then try the Ocean Kayak Cabo Tandem.

Racing / High performance sea kayaking and Surf Skis:
Want to race or have a high performance sea kayak? Or maybe want a boat that's easy to load on the car and that you can train in when the water is too high or low to risk your multi-sport kayak. Use the Cobra Eliminator or Ocean Kayak Sprinter for multisport, the Cobra Surf Ski or Barracuda Torpedo for surf rescue, or the Cobra Expedition for high performance sea kayaking.
