The Access 280 is ideal for sheltered waterways, estuary, and lakes. This model excels on calm and flat water with excellent tracking for paddling in straight lines and it is incredibly stable. Take it out for a spot of fishing, and store your lunch and accessories in the rear hatch. Explore your local water ways or put it on your car for day trips to discover more of our beautiful country. The ‘dashboard’ tray is great for stowing snacks, sunscreen and a windproof jacket for easy access.
The roomy cockpit is comfortable and you can fit a ½ deck spray deck to it to help keep you dry and can be used as a platform for fishing. Kids happily sit on the floor in front of the seat, as do dogs, making this an excellent family kayak.
Light weight of only 18kg, along with the ease of carrying a sit-in (think dry and warm year-round paddling) kayak on your shoulder makes this kayak the one of choice for Mums with young kids who need to car-top the kayak on their own quickly and easily, and also for retirees worried about the weight of their kayaks.
My oldest new kayaker was an 80 year old woman who was inspired by a long time kayaker of similar age who was paddling along the Avon.
