David has led a water-borne life thus far, with a mis-spent youth competitive sailing and windsurfing. Kayaking's been a more recent diversion. Colleagues keep suggesting the long-boat side of life but presently he's happiest running rivers and surfing occasionally at Sumner. His proudest qualification is the Cycling Proficiency Badge achieved at age 9, although he also instructs at a local gym and has spent the last year swim-teaching. He has been involved in the outdoor clothing and gear industry for 'a long time', firstly in the UK and more recently NZ and is enjoying the strong service culture that PaddlerZone aspires to.
